Parasols are available in a wide range of colours, materials sizes and shapes. Traditional wooden parasols can typically cover an area of about 2m in diameter although parasols using aluminium or stainless steel construction can cover double this area.
Fabrics are often a solution dyed acrylic material where the colour is consistent throughout the diameter if the yarn making it more light fast. Special coatings applied to the fabrics renders them resistant to fading, water and stains.
Given the overall size of these parasols the installation is an important consideration. Weighted bases can be used but it is also possible to have the parasol permanently fixed in the ground. A BBSA member will be able to advise the most appropriate solution for your situation.
Parasols, like other blinds, can have logos and other signwriting applied.
Parasols can be operated by cords, a gearbox or by electric motor.
Remember to always keep cords out of a child’s reach.
