Conservatory Blinds

Solar Shading can have a significant positive impact on the internal environment of a conservatory or similar glazed structure by reducing heat gain in the summer and heat loss in the winter.

With conservatories, orangeries and other glazed structures there are a wide choice of blind and awning solutions depending on the shape and size of the building.

For sloped or pitched glazing external shading may be an appropriate option as shading externally is typically more effective at reducing solar gain. Examples of external shading are conservatory awnings and non retractable blinds.

For internal shading roof rollers, Pinoleum (woven wood), pleated or non-retractable (rack arm) systems are all suitable options and all can be operated manually or motorised. With motorised options there are an extensive range of controls from simple switches and handsets through to automatic operation via environmental controls.

The variety of window shapes that have been designed to create architectural features has led to the development of blinds that maintain these effects. With the appropriate window blind system triangular, rhombus and sloping windows can all be covered as well as shaped roof lights that are found in conservatories, roof systems and atriums.
