The BBSA's own magazine

Through its four issues per year, a circulation of 4,700 and readership of over 12,000, Openings gives the most comprehensive coverage of the interior and exterior shading industry in the UK.

The editorial reflects both the general industry and the segmentation of the market. Overall each issue will include:


  • Up-to-date news and views.
  • New product development.
  • Case studies of interesting installations and business innovation.
  • Company and individual profiles that demonstrate business success, innovation and best practice.
  • The way blinds contribute to lifestyle and environment e.g. energy saving, home and office comfort, design and health and safety.
  • The activities of the BBSA and the way it contributes to the progress and standards of the industry.
  • Benefits of BBSA membership.
  • General business topics to help readers run their businesses e.g. regulations that affect the trade, health and safety, building regulations, financial control, marketing and IT.

Though the magazine is aimed at the shading industry, Openings does have some readership and appeal to the specialist buyer and specifier and interior design professional. This is through articles on topics such as - how shading can contribute to energy saving, specialist fabrics, automation and special projects such as shaped blinds. These can be accessed through the website of by magazine request. 

Over the last few years the industry has developed strongly despite the recent effects of the recession. Openings will continue to reflect the constant high standards, innovation and popularity of the shading product in the future and remain the premier source of reference.
