Tensile Structures / Shade Sails

Tensile structures are made using a material that is then pulled taut by being fixed permanently in position.

Tensile structures are more often used in commercial installations but are starting to be chosen by homeowners as a shading option.

Only certain fabrics are suitable for this type of application as the material must be capable of retaining its shape whilst under high tension. It is possible to create shaped shades using this type of material and system.

These fixed position shades can be used to dissipate heat and light providing a shady area to relax.

Materials used in this type of application are UV and waterproof and easy to clean.

Tensile structures are also known as; Shade sails, fixed shade sails.
