Many traditional blind materials help control the amount of light they exclude or permit through the cloth. This is determined by a number of factors including the thickness of the material, its colour, the openness of the fabric and of course the type of glass the blind is being used with.
Many people associate anti-glare blinds with a roller blind with a transparent solar film. This type of film is available in a number of colours and finishes all with different levels of performance so it is important to get expert advice from a BBSA member.
Some films include a micro thin coating of aluminium between the film layers and this can help with reducing heat in the summer and heat loss in the winter as well.
This type of blind can also be used to reduce the damage caused by UV rays on carpets and furniture.
See information on window blind safety here.
Anti-Glare blinds are also known as; Glare reducing blinds, UV Blinds and Glare control blinds.
