Shade Specifier, launched in February 2008, is the most advanced solar shading software in Europe. Shade Specifier simply illustrates the financial and environmental benefits of using appropriate solar shading to buildings.

This innovative software models a typical commercial building and a typical house allowing the user to select location, orientation, glass type and shading type to show the benefits of internal and/or external shading in combating solar gain, winter heat loss and glare.

Get listed on the database - BBSA Members Only

BBSA members can apply to have fabric/material performance data validated and included on the Shade Specifier database so that their products can be determined in simulations and specified.

Start Using Shade Specifier

To use Shade Specifier you will need to have attended a Shade Specifier seminar. If you have not been to one of these an on-line version will be launched soon - please contact us so we can advise you when this is available.

Once trained Members can obtain a free copy of the Shade Specifier demonstration disc from the BBSA Secretariat.
