BBSA members range from large multi-national companies through to independent specialists involved in the blind and shutter industry. A significant proportion of member companies are small businesses which is a reflection of the structure of the industry.
Not surprisingly the BBSA is the single biggest source of information on the industry and it shares this expertise with members as well assisting Government departments and other organisations.
The BBSA has been instrumental in the development of European Standards for many years and most recently have been heavily involved in the revision to standards in relation to child safety with window blinds. The BBSA's 'make it safe' campaign is the awareness part of this work and such is the importance the BBSA attaches to this work non-members of the Association are able to join this campaign.
The BBSA also has an important project, Shade Specifier, on proving the benefits of using solar shading to save money by reducing energy use and thereby cutting emissions of CO2.
The BBSA welcomes new members. The application process really is very simple if you meet the criteria for membership.
The BBSA and its members are members of The National Specialist Contractors' Council (NSCC) and The European Solar Shading Organisation (ES-SO)
